The Tocumwal Swap Meet Show and Shine will be held on Sun­day, July 8 at Tocumwal foot­ball ground. Gates open at 6 pm for site hold­ers and 7 pm for the pub­lic. En­try is $5.

Rock and roll

Arts so­ci­ety

The Co­bram and District Arts So­ci­ety meets ev­ery Thurs­day at Ba­rooga Com­mu­nity Hall from 10 am to 3 pm. Come along and join us as we share friend­ship and a com­mon in­ter­est in art. If you like to draw, sketch, paint — acrylic, oil, wa­ter­color, char­coal — what­ever your medium, this will be for you. Bring along lunch, ma­te­ri­als and in­spi­ra­tion. Some ma­te­ri­als can be sought from the store­room if you are just start­ing out.

Badminton

Fri­day night badminton at the Co­bram Sta­dium runs from 7 pm to 8.30 pm. Night fees are $3 per per­son and rac­quets are avail­able for hire. All ages are wel­come so bring the fam­ily for a great so­cial ac­tiv­ity. For in­for­ma­tion, phone Mar­garet Wat­son on 5876 3221.

Ki­wa­nis Club

The Ki­wa­nis Club is a world­wide or­gan­i­sa­tion based in the US, but with our own Aus­tralia district. It is the se­cond-old­est ser­vice club in the world and its fo­cus is ‘‘the chil­dren of the world’’.

The Co­bram-Ba­rooga club cur­rently has 11 mem­bers and is al­ways look­ing for new mem­bers. It meets on the first and third Wed­nes­day of each month. Shared bless­ings lun­cheon

Lun­cheons are held on the fourth Mon­day of ev­ery month from Fe­bru­ary to Novem­ber for peo­ple who eat and live alone. The next lun­cheon will be held on Mon­day at Irvin Hall, Co­bram Unit­ing Church, with a two or three-course meal pro­vided. Transport is avail­able on re­quest. Be Con­nected is a new pro­gram de­signed to help peo­ple aged 50 and over get on­line and de­velop con­fi­dence us­ing mo­bile phones, tablets or per­sonal com­put­ers. It is held on Thurs­days from 10 am to noon. Par­tic­i­pa­tion is by gold coin do­na­tion.

Com­mu­nity sup­port group
