Af­ter a shock round one loss to Co­bram, the Hawks have re­sponded in em­phatic fash­ion, win­ning nine games in suc­ces­sion, with their big­gest high­light be­ing a vic­tory over reign­ing premier Nathalia, the team they are jostling with for top spot.

And they are set to be buoyed by the huge ad­di­tion of key for­ward and former AFL player Cameron Cloke.

Cloke will line up for the first time this sea­son when Ba­rooga faces Echuca United this week­end and most ob­servers will be ex­pect­ing his vast ex­pe­ri­ence and goal-kick­ing prow­ess to have a huge in­flu­ence on the Hawks’ premiership hopes.

Co-coach James Hazel­man said his troops’ start to the year had been in­cred­i­bly pleas­ing con­sid­er­ing their tough draw to this point.
