Matt Hannan is Berrigan Shire Mayor for the next two years after he was re-elected unopposed at the monthly council meeting last week.
Fellow Finley-based councillor Daryll Morris was also re-elected unopposed as deputy mayor.
Cr Hannan said it meant it was ‘‘business as usual’’ for the Berrigan Shire.
‘‘I thank my fellow councillors for showing support for me and look forward to serving for the next two years,’’ he said.
‘‘We’re a progressive shire, there’s lots of good things happening throughout it. We’re bringing events and state events to our area, we’re upgrading our infrastructure and providing recreation for residents.
‘‘I think the Berrigan Shire is in a good place at the moment and if we continue to work together we can do really good things. There’s no more important time to come together than now with these conditions we can’t really control.
‘‘Daryll has been great support to me and I’m sure he will continue to be over the next two years, so I’m happy he decided to run for the position.’’
