Charity day a success
The Cobram District Hospital Ladies Auxiliary enjoyed a charity bowls day on Sunday, September 30, with the willing help of the Barooga Sporties Bowling Club, who provided its greens for the day.
The conditions were glorious, with 36 players turning out to enjoy a fun day on the greens.
President Mary Powell said it was the third time the Hospital Ladies Auxiliary had been able to host the event, and the first time it had been done on a Sunday which she added worked well for everyone.
‘‘The bowling club always has a charity day and this year they decided we would be the beneficiaries which we were extremely grateful and thrilled about,’’ Mrs Powell said.
‘‘It was a very relaxed day and we had lots of raffles available, everybody seemed to enjoy themselves,’’ she said.
Mrs Powell said the group is now working through the process of where the funds raised will go.
‘‘We have a meeting on Thursday with a member from Irvin House who will be talking about a music system that was recently seen on Four Corners which is believed to help elderly residents.’’
‘‘It is certainly on the wish list, we just need to find out a little bit more about it before we commit to it,’’ she said.
