State to state walk

Sorop­ti­mist Co­bram-Ba­rooga is hold­ing a state to state walk from Thomp­sons Beach to Ba­rooga Com­mu­nity Cen­tre on De­cem­ber 2 to raise funds for White Rib­bon.

Story time

Story time is held at Ba­rooga li­brary on Wed­nes­days at 10.30 am. All preschool­ers and their par­ents and car­ers are wel­come. Sto­ries are read and fan­tas­tic craft is al­ways cre­ated. School hol­i­day pro­grams are held ev­ery school hol­i­days for school-aged chil­dren. All free, all fun, all wel­come.

Co­bram CWA night branch

A new Co­bram CWA night branch has been suc­cess­fully formed. Meet­ings will be on the first Mon­day of the month at Co­bram Se­nior Cit­i­zens rooms, Hay Ave, Co­bram, at 7 pm.

Se­nior cit­i­zens

Co­bram Se­nior Cit­i­zens are al­ways look­ing for new mem­bers. The group has started re­hearsals for its Christ­mas con­cert. You do not have to be a good singer, it is all about the fun and en­joy­ment. So come along and have a sing, cuppa and chat af­ter­wards. Lit­er­acy for Life

Co­bram Com­mu­nity House is tak­ing ex­pres­sions of in­ter­est from peo­ple look­ing to im­prove their read­ing and writ­ing skills in a sup­port­ive and friendly en­vi­ron­ment with small classes.

Classes would run for three hours over seven weeks and may be run either in the evening evening or dur­ing the day, de­pend­ing on de­mand. Phone 5872 2224 to dis­cuss this op­por­tu­nity.

Train­ing is de­liv­ered with Vic­to­rian and Com­mon­wealth gov­ern­ment fund­ing.

Women’s so­cial ten­nis

Quilt­ing club

The Co­bram Quil­ters meet at Co­bram Com­mu­nity House on the sec­ond Fri­day of ev­ery month from 9.30 am to 4 pm for so­cial sewing. All wel­come to join in for the whole day or part of it. Any­one new to patch­work can ask for help, and cur­rent mem­bers will be glad to share their ex­pe­ri­ence. The club also meets on the fourth Sun­day of ev­ery month at Yar­roweyah hall.

Men’s Shed

The Co­bram Men’s Shed in Punt Rd, next to Co­bram Com­mu­nity House, is open Tues­day to Thurs­day from 9 am to noon.
