Tips from the best
Award-winning landscape photographer Tom Putt is coming to Barooga tomorrow night to show Finley and District Camera Club members some tricks of the trade.
He will be at Barooga Public School library from 7.30 pm to 10 pm, where he will talk all things photography to the group of amateurs from the local district.
Mr Putt is an award-winning fine art landscape photographer and photographic leader based in Melbourne.
With more than 150 international and national landscape photography awards, Mr Putt’s passion was driven by his desire to showcase the beauty of the landscape.
Regarded as one of Australia’s most prolific landscape photographers, he spends many months of the year creating new photographs for limited and open edition prints and book projects.
Finley and District Camera Club’s Shirley Coldwell said Mr Putt coming to Barooga was a little bit of luck in some ways.
‘‘He comes from Mornington and I was down that way for the VAPS convention two years ago in Frankston and met him there,’’ she said.
‘‘I asked him if he would like to come up here and he agreed to it and we have sort of been in communication ever since.’’
She said it was fantastic the club could bring such a highquality operator to the area.
‘‘I knew his work was really really good, he does a lot of aerial photos from helicopters and aeroplanes which are quite captivating,’’ Mrs Coldwell said.
