Drugs in the mail, man faces court

A MAN ap­peared in court this week af­ter po­lice ex­e­cuted a search war­rant at a home in Coffs Har­bour.

On Tues­day, po­lice re­ceived in­for­ma­tion about a pack­age al­legedly con­tain­ing metham­phetamine that was in­ter­cepted at a mail­ing fa­cil­ity.

About 1.30pm on Wed­nes­day, of­fi­cers from Coffs/Clarence Lo­cal Area Com­mand ex­e­cuted a search war­rant at a home on Hamp­shire Close, Coffs Har­bour, where po­lice lo­cated and seized doc­u­ments, drugs and drug para­pher­na­lia.

Po­lice said of­fi­cers ar­rested a 28-year-old man at the home fol­low­ing the search.

He was taken to Coffs Har­bour Po­lice Sta­tion, where he was charged with sup­ply­ing a pro­hib­ited drug, pos­sess­ing in­struc­tions for the man­u­fac­ture of a pro­hib­ited drug and im­port­ing a mar­ketable quan­tity

The man was re­fused bail and ap­peared in a brief bail court hear­ing in Coffs Har­bour Lo­cal Court on Thurs­day.
