Diggers jigging a sun dance

IF THERE’S no play possible in this weekend’s final between Nana Glen and Diggers, Nana Glen will progress through to next week’s grand final.

The reason for this is simply because Nana Glen team finished higher on the ladder.

For this reason Diggers captain Alex Byrne hopes his team gets a chance to at least have a crack.

“It’s not nice being knocked out by a washout,” Byrne said.

Byrne did admit though that he found it hard to see how there would be enough play at the Coffs Coast Sport and Leisure Park considering.

“On Wednesday I saw some pics of where we’ll be playing this week and it was under water,” he said.

Sawtell awaits the victor in the season decider but Byrne hopes to play, even if it’s on a green top.

“If we do get on, I think it will probably advantage us a bit more. It (a damp wicket) might nullify a few of their batsmen,” he said.
