Go lavish for luxe bedroom

The Coffs Coast Advocate - - LIFE HOME - Tracey Hordern

THERE are plenty of options to re-invigorate a tired-looking bedroom, such as choosing new bed linen and adding new cushions.

But if you really want to transform this intimate space into a sumptuous retreat then you might want to consider adopting a lavish theme and sticking with it.

If you choose to invest in only one new item, make it a bedhead.

This will become the focus, while creating a statement about the overall style of the room.

And if it’s a luxe and lush bedroom style you want to create, choose a classic-shaped bedhead that is upholstered in a sumptuous fabric.

Bedside tables, while practical, can quickly become cluttered and messy. Another guaranteed strategy to smarten up the bedroom is to de-clutter the bedside tables.

If you have built-in space in your tables, move everything into the space. Leave only lamps and fresh flowers, plus one or two decor pieces at most on show.

Matching lamps for your bedside are also worth investing in.

Aside from their practicality, well-chosen lamps can add ambience to the bedroom.

Be sure to choose lamps in a style that work well with the overall theme. If you have room, add an ottoman to the base of your bed.

Window dressings are also important to transform a bedroom to a boudoir. Gorgeous curtains in lush fabrics such as silk or velvet that spill to the floor are the gold standard for luxury.

If those fabrics are not to your taste, ensure to buy the best quality window dressings you can afford.
