NNSW Coun­try 13s fire up

THE 13 years North­ern NSW Coun­try side featuring four Coffs Coast play­ers continued its good run to­wards the end of the FFA Na­tional Youth Cham­pi­onships for Boys.

ON day four of the cham­pi­onship it ham­mered Tas­ma­nia 5-0.

North­ern NSW Foot­ball tech­ni­cal di­rec­tor Michael Browne said the coun­try side played well to­gether in the build up to Fri­day’s fi­nal game.

“It was an­other pleas­ing per­for­mance from the boys which seen them dom­i­nate from start to fin­ish, the boys scored some nice goals and thor­oughly de­served their vic­tory,” he said.

NNSW Coun­try 13s beat NSW Coun­try 6-1 and North­ern Ter­ri­tory 4-0. It only lost to NSW Metro Blues 3-1.

The NNSW Coun­try 14s were less lucky, los­ing 2-1 to Tas­ma­nia, 1-0 to NSW Coun­try, 6-1 to NSW Metro White and 5-1 to NSW Metro Blue.

Browne said fa­tigue was a con­cern among the older NNSW Coun­try ranks in the cham­pi­onship.

Western Aus­tralia v South Aus­tralia in the FFA Na­tional Youth Cham­pi­onships for boys.

Foot­ball West v NSW Coun­try on the fi­nal day of the cham­pi­onships.

FFA Na­tional Youth Cham­pi­onships at C.ex Coffs In­ter­na­tional Sta­dium drew in hun­dreds of play­ers from around Aus­tralia.

Western Aus­tralia takes on South Aus­tralia.
