Boy, 12, charged over cash robbery at skate park
POLICE have charged a boy in connection with a robbery at the Coffs Harbour skating plaza last weekend.
At about 1.30pm on Sunday, three children, all aged 12, were at the skate park at the intersection of Harbour Dr and Earl St when they were approached by a young boy.
The young boy became involved in an altercation with the three children.
It’s alleged the boy left and returned a short time later with a group of at least six other young people.
The three victims were allegedly threatened and handed over a sum of cash to one of the boys.
Police attended and inquiries led to the arrest of a 12year-old boy at the scene.
He was taken to Coffs Harbour Police Station and charged with three counts of robbery in company, affray and breach of bail.
The boy was refused bail and scheduled to appear at a children’s court earlier this week.
Inquiries into the incident continue and police urge anyone who has experienced any similar incidents at the skate park to come forward.
