Focus is firmly on growth

A place where every child thrives

The Coffs Coast Advocate - - SCHOOL OF THE WEEK -

ST AUGUSTINE’S offers a high-quality Catholic education in a nurturing environment for children from Kindergarten to Year 6.

The academic program is designed to not only teach the fundamentals but also to engage and develop every child’s individual learning.

The focus is firmly on growth for every child, in all areas.

In their class spaces students are encouraged to question, explore and creatively develop solutions to problems in the world today and into the future.

Exceptional teachers guide children every step of the way on their educational journey.

St Augustine’s provides a nurturing and caring environment where every child is important and valued.

Each Year 6 student has a Kindergarten buddy and over the year the older children mentor and support the transition to ‘big school’, having a lunch together or sharing a book or just being a friend.

A ‘Buddy Bench’ also provides a place where any child can go and have a chat with our ‘rostered on’ older students.

All students participate in a resilience and growth program that boosts mental health and well-being.

The school is also a place of amazing opportunity.

There are highly developed music and drama programs and senior children have the opportunity to participate in the school musical.

Every child participates in PE and sport each week with gymnastics, swimming, athletics and dance among the favourites. Lunchtime clubs offer the chance to pursue a wide variety of interest areas such as chess, robotics, gardening and yoga to name just a few.
