Cross coun­try run­ners go off beaten track

DE­SPITE a way­ward group at the pointy end of the 2km run, the sec­ond edi­tion of the Mid North Coast Cross Coun­tries held on Sun­day on sec­tions of the Coffs Creek Walk­way proved as popular as ever.

Af­ter the lead group of the 2km played fol­low the leader off course, ad­just­ments to the times re­sulted in the top three be­ing Daniel Williams, Peter Co­hen and Ri­cardo Mon­cada.

The first three fe­males on ad­justed times re­mained Alana Ward­man, Maya Mitchell and Jewelle Nel­son.

Jonny Gus­man pi­loted the field through the 5km ahead of Scott Mitchell and first lady Ali­son Howle.

Craig Allen was the third male, Made­line McKe­own sec­ond fe­male and Cor­rine Happ third fe­male.

The 10km, which was the sec­ond run in the Partland/ McKean Se­ries, saw Nick Mur­ray a clear win­ner with first lady Clare Palmer next in.

Tom Ma­ley was sec­ond male with Mitchell Kar­rasch edg­ing out Daniel Williams for third.

The next Mid North Coast Cross Coun­tries will be at Lake­side, Wool­go­olga on Sun­day.
