Cross country runners go off beaten track
DESPITE a wayward group at the pointy end of the 2km run, the second edition of the Mid North Coast Cross Countries held on Sunday on sections of the Coffs Creek Walkway proved as popular as ever.
After the lead group of the 2km played follow the leader off course, adjustments to the times resulted in the top three being Daniel Williams, Peter Cohen and Ricardo Moncada.
The first three females on adjusted times remained Alana Wardman, Maya Mitchell and Jewelle Nelson.
Jonny Gusman piloted the field through the 5km ahead of Scott Mitchell and first lady Alison Howle.
Craig Allen was the third male, Madeline McKeown second female and Corrine Happ third female.
The 10km, which was the second run in the Partland/ McKean Series, saw Nick Murray a clear winner with first lady Clare Palmer next in.
Tom Maley was second male with Mitchell Karrasch edging out Daniel Williams for third.
The next Mid North Coast Cross Countries will be at Lakeside, Woolgoolga on Sunday.
