Enter Pratchett stage right at Jetty

The Coffs Coast Advocate - - NEWS -

COMBINE passion and Pratchett and you have the perfect ingredients for a great night at the theatre. Local actor and director Beckley Vincent is an avid fan of Terry Pratchett, a prolific writer and creator of the Discworld series which enjoys cult status worldwide. Vincent recently directed a local production of Wryd Sisters, which was well-received by fans and newcomers alike, and is now preparing for the curtain to go up tomorrow night on the debut of Lords and Ladies. Although technically a sequel, Lords and Ladies is a stand alone production and audiences will enjoy being whisked away to a world of good and evil, wizards and witches, elves and dwarves and of course, a troll and a monkey. Vincent is excited about the cast and staging of this production “I like to use the whole theatre, be immersive,” he said. “We are moving some seats out to make space on the floor for the actors. There is no direct interaction with the audience but the action does happen all around you.” “With a split stage I can get away with more and create atmosphere with sound and lighting. “It’s a fast paced play, plenty of speedy short scenes to keep audiences on their toes.” Many cast members of Wryd Sisters have been tempted to come back, along with some new talent.
