Surf club sea­son now in full swing

THE Coffs Har­bour Surf Life Sav­ing Club started vol­un­teer surf pa­trols last week­end on Park Beach.

The club is al­ways happy to wel­come new mem­bers and has a Bronze Medal­lion train­ing squad for new mem­bers start­ing Oc­to­ber 18 at the club­house from 6pm. For more in­for­ma­tion you can con­tact Jamie 0438 526 897.


The club’s ju­niors (Nip­pers) is about learn­ing, con­fi­dence and hav­ing fun in a safe beach en­vi­ron­ment.

For nip­pers the beach is a class­room for all chil­dren aged 5 to 13. The skills gained in nip­pers will stick to the soul like sand from the beach and be car­ried for life. Coffs Har­bour ju­nior ac­tiv­i­ties are held at Park Beach on a Sun­day morn­ing from to­mor­row.

The day be­gins at 8.45am and ac­tiv­i­ties fin­ish about 11am.

Age Man­agers or­gan­ise each age group’s ac­tiv­i­ties in­clud­ing swims, boards, wad­ing, iron per­son, beach flags, beach sprints, nov­elty events, surf ed­u­ca­tion pro­grams, res­cue and re­sus­ci­ta­tion.

Nip­pers can also choose to train and com­pete in car­ni­vals. All new and re­turn­ing nip­pers need to com­plete reg­is­tra­tion forms, com­plete age ap­pro­pri­ate swim pro­fi­ciency and be­come fi­nan­cial. Reg­is­ter on­line at: coff­shar­ or at the venues be­low.

Reg­is­tra­tions are be­ing taken to­day at Coffs Har­bour Surf Club 23 Surf Club Rd from 10.30am to 12.30 and pro­fi­ciency swims at Coffs Har­bour Aquatic Cen­tre 50 Park Beach Rd to­day from 12.30pm to 2.30pm.

The reg­u­lar Sun­day morn­ing nip­per ac­tiv­i­ties start to­mor­row in front of the surf club from 8.45am.
