Surf club season now in full swing
THE Coffs Harbour Surf Life Saving Club started volunteer surf patrols last weekend on Park Beach.
The club is always happy to welcome new members and has a Bronze Medallion training squad for new members starting October 18 at the clubhouse from 6pm. For more information you can contact Jamie 0438 526 897.
NIPPER SEASON KICKS OFF THIS WEEKEND
The club’s juniors (Nippers) is about learning, confidence and having fun in a safe beach environment.
For nippers the beach is a classroom for all children aged 5 to 13. The skills gained in nippers will stick to the soul like sand from the beach and be carried for life. Coffs Harbour junior activities are held at Park Beach on a Sunday morning from tomorrow.
The day begins at 8.45am and activities finish about 11am.
Age Managers organise each age group’s activities including swims, boards, wading, iron person, beach flags, beach sprints, novelty events, surf education programs, rescue and resuscitation.
Nippers can also choose to train and compete in carnivals. All new and returning nippers need to complete registration forms, complete age appropriate swim proficiency and become financial. Register online at: coffsharbourslsc.asn.au or at the venues below.
Registrations are being taken today at Coffs Harbour Surf Club 23 Surf Club Rd from 10.30am to 12.30 and proficiency swims at Coffs Harbour Aquatic Centre 50 Park Beach Rd today from 12.30pm to 2.30pm.
The regular Sunday morning nipper activities start tomorrow in front of the surf club from 8.45am.
