There are about 19,100 sales, mar­ket­ing and pub­lic re­la­tions pro­fes­sion­als work­ing in Queens­land, up from about 13,500 a decade ago. Most work­ers are em­ployed in ad­ver­tis­ing and mar­ket­ing (8800), fol­lowed by tech­ni­cal sales (5600) and pub­lic re­la­tions (4000).

About 336,900 cler­i­cal and ad­min­is­tra­tive work­ers are em­ployed in Queens­land, up from about 342,900 five years ago. Most Queens­lan­ders in the sec­tor (78,900) are em­ployed as gen­eral cler­i­cal work­ers, in roles such as key­board op­er­a­tors. An­other 72,400 peo­ple work as nu­mer­i­cal clerks, such as pay­roll clerks, and 60,500 are em­ployed as in­quiry clerks and re­cep­tion­ists.

HEALTH IN­DUS­TRY/SNAP­SHOT/ NEWS/MOVE­MENTS

There are about 125,300 health pro­fes­sion­als in Queens­land, up from about 106,800 just five years ago, and about 69,000 a decade ago. Most work­ers (66,300) are reg­is­tered nurses, while 17,800 are health ther­apy pro­fes­sion­als, such as oc­cu­pa­tional ther­a­pists and po­di­a­trists. There are about 11,000 gen­eral prac­ti­tion­ers and res­i­dent med­i­cal of­fi­cers.
