A surge in sales has seen $12 million in new apartments sold in just 60 days at the Southpoint development at South Bank.

The highest price achieved at the $600 million Anthony John Group development was $5.4 million, with a local buyer snapping up the home-sized 380sq m Emporium Residence with a 20m city/river- facing balcony. The development is made up of three towers – The Apartments tower (completed), The Emporium Residences and Emporium Apartments and the new Emporium Hotel (under-construction), and a commercial tower housing the headquarters for Flight Centre.

Both The Apartments and Emporium Apartments have sold out, with settlements now underway.

Just four Emporium Residences are still available for purchase, with construction on the development due for completion early to mid-next year.

Southpoint sales agent Bryce O’Conner said local interest had remained strong, with the development ticking the right boxes for buyers at all price levels.

“The interest in Southpoint continues to be exceptional,” he said. “The combination of the location, which is unparalleled, fantastic retail and dining amenity, and overall quality and finish has been a real winning formula.

“I have no doubt that if Southpoint had another residential building we would sell out again.”

Anthony John Group managing director Tony John said cashed-up baby boomers had come to the fore as construction progressed on the final stage – Emporium Residences and the new 143-suite flagship Emporium Hotel.

“We have a waiting list of buyers for the two sold out stages, and are seeing a real spike in interest at the top end of the market for our remaining Emporium Residences,” Mr John said.

“The added bonus of having access to the services of Emporium Hotel ... has been a real deal clincher. It’s such a unique and compelling offering for Brisbane.”

The remaining Emporium Residences start from $1.95 million. Buyers are being tempted by the promise of “five-star hotel living every single day” with residents given free or by fee access to a host of hotel services including a doorman, room service, valet parking, dry cleaning services and more.

The residences themselves boast generous open-plan layouts, premium finishes and appliances, secure, above ground parking, entertainer balconies and spectacular views of the river and CBD, or over Highgate Hill to the hinterland.

The Southpoint Emporium Residences offers its residents the services of the Emporium Hotel.
