LAUNCH OF NEW VENTURE
It’s not quite a cruise ship but it could be the next best thing.
Residents of the Orianna Lifestyle Resort recently christened their new BBQ pontoon boat, which has been named Orianna Pumicestone Pass-Timer.
The boat, a communal perk, was purchased by the developer to allow residents to make the most of Bribie Island life.
Keen bowlers Warren and Desley McDougall said they might just become keen boaties as well.
“We have had a couple of boats before so we are definitely game enough to take the new boat out,” Mr McDougall said.
“The BBQ pontoon boat is just another box Orianna was ticking that nobody else was offering. The ability to have access to a boat, when the weather is good and you feel like going, is just fantastic.”
Fellow resident Lyn Murphy said the resort’s position at Sandstone Point had been a major selling point.
“What brought me here was the water and now getting access to a boat to make the most of it is just perfect,” she said.
The christening of the Orianna Pumicestone Pass-Timer also marked the launch of Club Orianna.
The facility allows residents to access recreational facilities, but also has an online portal to organise events, book facilities, join activities and get community news.
Orianna Lifestyle Resort’s General Manager Brett Robinson said residents were now looking forward to the completion of the recreation centre early next year.
“The recreation centre will be the hub for the community to catch up, have a drink at the bar, grab a coffee with friends, or strike up a game of billiards,” Mr Robinson said.
Orianna Lifestyle Resorts offer two and three bedroom homes between $375,000 and $475,000. Some of the new home designs also feature double lockup garages.
