Auction reaps $1m reward
A FOUR-bedroom Hendra residence, dating back to 1920, has sold for more than $1 million at auction.
The two-level property at 101 Mein St was marketed by Linda Bywater from Harcourts Ascot.
The on-site auction attracted 50 people with three registered bidders.
Auctioneer Ben Brady took an opening bid of $900,000 from the floor with a Teneriffe family, who intend to live in the property, being the successful bidders at $1.18 million.
The property has been raised and renovated and also features four bathrooms and parking for two cars.
The residence has classic features and a modern design.
Set on 539sq•m and offering a leafy green outlook, the house has a sleek integration between indoor and outdoor living areas.
Quality character features are dominant throughout the design, including a combination of blackbutt and original hardwood timber floors, neutral tones and white plantation shutters.
Beyond a white picket fence, a pathway flows through the gardens to a patio beneath the front wraparound veranda.
