A YOUNG couple from Fortitude Valley bought a three-bedroom one-bathroom Coorparoo property under the hammer for $725,000.

The on-site auction at 48 Hipwood Ave attracted about 30 people and two registered bidders.

Auctioneer Haesley Cush took an opening bid of $600,000 from the floor before the sale priced was reached.

Marketing agent Kay Smith from Ray White Coorparoo said the property was on a huge 905sq m block in a quality location with great potential.

“A great turnout from local families on auction day gave the new owners the chance to meet their new neighbours,” she said.

“The vendors were thrilled to sell under the hammer.”

She said the buyers were looking to move from the inner city and settle in the suburbs.

The Queenslander boasts a modern kitchen with granite benchtops, Euro appliances, Miele dishwasher and a Qasair rangehood.

A separate lounge and dining area has polished timber floors while other property features include solar panels and single-car garage.
