Modern classic awaits

REBUILT in 2012, this Federation-era Queenslander combines all the appeal of a traditional design with 21stcentury modernity.

A picket fence borders the frontyard and timber steps rise to the front veranda, accessed through batwing doors.

The front door opens to the formal lounge at the front of the house on the right, which features french doors to the covered deck as well as an open wood-burning fireplace and access to the kitchen scullery.

To the left of the entryway is a bedroom that looks over the frontyard. Double doors open to the ensuite, which features tiling and a shower.

Through the lounge is the house’s kitchen, floored in lightcoloured polished timber and equipped with granite benchtops.

Smeg appliances have been installed here, including an induction cooktop, a pyrolytic oven, a steam oven and a dishwasher.

VJ walls and high ceilings complement the kitchen, which is rounded out by an island bench with sink, a scullery with a sink, and ample cabinets.

A spacious living and dining area is at the heart of the upper level between the kitchen and a large timber deck outside, accessed through bi-fold doors.

From the living-dining area, the two other bedrooms on this level can also be reached, along with a bathroom with shower and the internal stairs, made of polished blackbutt timber, descending to the lower level.

A living area provides a hub for the lower level and features a kitchenette equipped with a dishwasher, cooktop, double sink and a stainless-steel Smeg convection microwave.

Bi-fold doors on two walls open to a covered patio, leading to the in-ground saltwater pool, complemented by landscaped gardens.

Also accessible from the downstairs living area is a bedroom with built-in wardrobe and serviced by a large ensuite with corner spa.

On the far side of the living area is another bedroom, also with a built-in wardrobe.

The laundry is also on this level, adjacent to the large double lock-up garage and storage area or workshop.

Traditional Queenslander traits including breezeways, VJ walls and high ceilings feature throughout the upper level of the property.

There are also three 3000L water tanks, ducted airconditioning and remotecontrolled blinds.
