I can totally relate to Mary-Rose MacColl’s column “Possum paws on the freeway of life” (Oct 4-5), as we have had many generations of brushtails residing in our garage roller-doors. Numerous methods of evicting them have been tried and failed. Our doors are permanently stained with their urine and our garage regularly littered with their nesting material. I’m now resigned to the fact that they are our permanent tenants, so when I see a brand new baby possum there with its mum, maybe, like Mary-Rose, I’ll just pretend they’re sugar gliders.
