Tonight, 8pm, The Zoo, For­ti­tude Val­ley, $20 (18+) zoo.oztix.com.au Fresh from their tri­umph for best heavy song at the Queens­land Mu­sic Awards, and with a cult fol­low­ing across Europe and the US, Bris­bane pro­gres­sive metal band Caligula’s Horse wrap up their Aus­tralian tour at The Zoo tonight. The name of their latest al­bum, Bloom, could de­scribe the state of the Aussie prog-metal scene, with mul­ti­ple long-run­ning acts fi­nally gain­ing recog­ni­tion over­seas. “When we were in Europe at the end of last year we got asked, what are they putting in the wa­ter in Aus­tralia, you’ve got all these amaz­ing artists com­ing out,” front­man Jim Grey re­calls. “I say, well, we’ve been there the whole time and I think peo­ple are just notic­ing it now.”
