BIG ticket whitegoods like fridges and freezers, are items most people should only need to buy a couple of times in their life.
Shoppers seeking a fridge should check out the Fridges & Freezers section of Weekend Shopper.
There are a multitude of heavily discounted fridges and freezers here. The reasons they are being sold are many and varied, including upsizing, downsizing, moving overseas or moving into a furnished property.
Shoppers can literally save hundreds of dollars on a host of whitegoods.
Leading brands including Fisher & Paykel, Westinghouse, Sharp, GE, Samsung, and Kelvinator are all available.
It’s interesting to note that bar fridges still command a high price, new or used.
For example a new, small bar fridge for personal use retails for around $200-$600.
And a used bar fridges: “170 L Kelvinator fridge in good working order” is advertised in Weekend Shopper for just $140.
However, large, used fridges can be bought for very reasonable prices. A new frost-free fridge/ freezer retails for about $2000, but in Weekend Shopper the same can be purchased for as little as $450.
Chest freezers are also available at heavily discounted prices. These can sell new for around the $2000 mark. The same item, just four years old, can be purchased for just $150 in the Shopper.
Mechanically minded shoppers can also pick up broken whitegoods for free: “Giveaway small upright freezer, motor needs attention. Good exterior.”
In some instances shoppers are willing to swap whitegoods: “ LG Ice Maker 610 litre fridge 2yr, swap for a 400 litre plus washing machine. $0.”
In addition to fridges and freezers, shoppers can sometimes pick up wine cabinets and coolers, both new and used. Before spending top dollar on a replacement fridge, flick through these pages to discover lots of cool discounts.
