Raids net neo-Nazi ma­te­ri­als

A SELF-PRO­CLAIMED neoNazi, who has a swastika tat­tooed on the side of his head, is among 61 peo­ple nabbed by po­lice dur­ing drug raids.

De­tec­tives from Task Force Max­ima un­cov­ered neo-Nazi para­pher­na­lia dur­ing the sting, tar­get­ing prop­er­ties from the state’s far north down to Queens­land’s south and south­west ar­eas.

Po­lice seized weapons, in­clud­ing a semi­au­to­matic ri­fle, along with ammunition and a quan­tity of ex­plo­sive black pow­der.

Drugs were also a fo­cus and po­lice said metham­phetamines, co­caine and steroids were un­cov­ered dur­ing the searches.

Task Force Max­ima De­tec­tive In­spec­tor Bren­dan Smith said at one ru­ral Cook­town prop­erty, a 49-year-old res­i­dent “self-iden­ti­fied” to of­fi­cers as a “neo-Nazi”. TOM SNOW­DON
