Infant hit by mower
A BABY has been airlifted to Brisbane after being run over by a lawnmower near Toowoomba.
The 12-month-old boy suffered a fractured leg and cuts to his back when he was hit by the mower at the family’s Biddeston home, west of Toowoomba, about 6pm.
Careflight paramedics and a doctor provided emergency care for the infant, rushing him to Toowoomba hospital.
“He had a serious laceration to his back,” an ambulance spokeswoman said. “Doctors were preparing him to be transported by air to Brisbane’s Lady Cilento Hospital for specialised treatment.”
