PM’s plane grounded


SE­RI­OUS safety con­cerns have been raised about Prime Min­is­ter Tony Ab­bott’s plane af­ter a wind­screen cracked for a third time on one of the two Boe­ing busi­ness jets used for of­fi­cial travel.

Mr Ab­bott was plan­ning to fly from Syd­ney to Western Aus­tralia on Au­gust 21 when the RAAF-crewed jet again broke down on the tar­mac in Mel­bourne be­fore leav­ing to col­lect Mr Ab­bott.

The Prime Min­is­ter and his en­tourage were forced to take a com­mer­cial flight to Perth af­ter be­ing told the plane was not safe to fly.
