OUROU Aussie artists are on track to snag at least one “Moonman” at today’s MTV Video Music Awards, thanks to pop punk bank 5 Seconds
of Summer.
The She’s So Perfect rockers are hot contenders to win the fan-voted Song of Summer category, with their latest hit She’s Kinda Hot earning
more than 10milli10 million votest in the lead up to today.
The quartet, made up of Luke Hemmings, Calum Hood, Ashton
Irwin and Michael Clifford, have kept a commanding lead throughout the voting process, with US girl band
Fifth Harmony the only other contender who could snatch a lastminute victory.
Other Aussies in contention for a VMA today include Vance Joy and
Sia, nominated for the Artist to Watch and Best Female Video categories respectively.
The award show will be hosted by pop star Miley Cyrus, with rumours swirling she will close out the event with a performance featuring up to 30 drag queens.
