The She’s So Per­fect rock­ers are hot con­tenders to win the fan-voted Song of Sum­mer cat­e­gory, with their latest hit She’s Kinda Hot earn­ing

more than 10milli10 mil­lion votest in the lead up to to­day.

The quar­tet, made up of Luke Hem­mings, Calum Hood, Ash­ton

Ir­win and Michael Clifford, have kept a com­mand­ing lead through­out the vot­ing process, with US girl band

Fifth Har­mony the only other con­tender who could snatch a last­minute vic­tory.

Other Aussies in con­tention for a VMA to­day in­clude Vance Joy and

Sia, nom­i­nated for the Artist to Watch and Best Fe­male Video cat­e­gories re­spec­tively.

The award show will be hosted by pop star Mi­ley Cyrus, with ru­mours swirling she will close out the event with a per­for­mance fea­tur­ing up to 30 drag queens.
