HE’S BEEN ‘FATHER’ TO THOUSANDS The Father of the Year, Mr Herbert William Watson, O.B.E. Mr Watson, 78 — father of eight, grandfather of 17, and great-grandfather of three — has also been “father” to thousands of children during 14 years as honorary secretary and administrator of Montrose Home for Crippled Children. Mr Watson was declared Father of the Year by the Minister in Charge of Child Welfare (Mr Herbert) at a dinner attended by about 80 community representatives and their sons.
