ON FRI­DAY, in the morn­ing, at the Aus­tralian Con­sulate-Gen­eral, Hong Kong, His Ex­cel­lency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC met Aus­tralian Con­sul-Gen­eral for Hong Kong and Ma­cau, Mr Paul Tighe, and Austrade Se­nior Trade Com­mis­sioner for Hong Kong and Ma­cau, Ms Yvonne Chan, for a brief­ing on Aus­tralia-Hong Kong re­la­tions. Fol­low­ing, at Po­lice Head­quar­ters, Hong Kong, the Gover­nor met Com­mis­sioner of Po­lice, Hong Kong Po­lice Force, Mr Lo Waichung, for a brief­ing on dis­as­ter man­age­ment plan­ning and oper­a­tions, and then toured the Com­mand and Con­trol Cen­tre.

In the af­ter­noon, at The Land­mark, Queen’s Road Cen­tral, Hong Kong, the Gover­nor and Mrs Kaye de Jersey met In­vest­ment Di­rec­tor, Chow Tai Fook En­ter­prises Lim­ited, Mr Con­rad Chi-him Cheng, for a brief­ing on the Queen’s Wharf Pro­ject, be­fore at­tend­ing a work­ing lunch hosted by Chair­man and CEO, Far East Con­sor­tium In­ter­na­tional Group, Tan Sri Dato’ David Chiu. Fol­low­ing, at the Kowloon Shangri-la Ho­tel, the Gover­nor and Mrs de Jersey at­tended the QIMR Berghofer Med­i­cal Re­search In­sti­tute and The Univer­sity of Hong Kong Sign­ing Cer­e­mony Event, where the Gover­nor ad­dressed guests, and ob­served a sym­bolic re­sign­ing of the Mem­o­ran­dum of Un­der­stand­ing be­tween the QIMR and The Univer­sity of Hong Kong for their med­i­cal re­search pro­ject and part­ner­ship.

In the evening, at the Aus­tralian Con­sul-Gen­eral’s res­i­dence, Hong Kong, the Gover­nor and Mrs de Jersey, as guests of hon­our, at­tended the Aus­tralian As­so­ci­a­tion of Hong Kong Net­work­ing Re­cep­tion and the Gover­nor ad­dressed guests.

On Satur­day, in the morn­ing, at Hong Kong In­ter­na­tional Air­port, the Gover­nor vis­ited the Cathay Pa­cific City and met se­nior mem­bers of staff be­fore tour­ing the In­te­grated Op­er­a­tion Cen­tre, In-flight Ser­vice Train­ing Cen­tre, and Safety Train­ing Cen­tre.

In the af­ter­noon, the Gover­nor and Mrs de Jersey vis­ited the Hong Kong Mu­seum of History for a brief­ing and guided tour. Ear­lier, in the morn­ing, the Honourable Jus­tice Mar­garet McMurdo AC ceased duty as Act­ing Gover­nor and the Honourable Jus­tice Cather­ine Holmes com­menced duty as Act­ing Gover­nor. Fol­low­ing, in the morn­ing, at the Royal Queens­land Yacht Squadron, Manly, the Act­ing Gover­nor, and Dr Arthur Pre­ston, at­tended and of­fi­ci­ated at the Open­ing Day of the 131st Yacht­ing Sea­son.
