GREEN juices and steamed ve­g­ies are re­plac­ing fast food and sug­ary treats faster than a kale crop shoots in spring time.

Miss Bliss Whole Foods Kitchen opened its doors at West End in Bris­bane and owner Jac­qui Toum­bas al­ready plans to ex­pand into a whole­sale range and healthy cook­ing work­shops. Ms Toum­bas started mak­ing bliss balls and post­ing recipes on her health blog while study­ing for a nutri­tion de­gree.

She started craft­ing small treats to give to friends and, af­ter giv­ing her lo­cal cof­fee shop a bliss ball ham­per for Christ­mas, she landed her first re­tailer to launch her busi­ness.

Her prod­ucts are now stocked in more than 20 cafes around Bris­bane.

“It started with a pas­sion to pro­vide healthy, nour­ish­ing food to Bris­bane lo­cals,” Ms Toum­bas said. “I now have a venue, a full com­mer­cial kitchen and a lo­ca­tion to call my own. Ex­pand­ing my brand and hav­ing a base is now what I’m fo­cused on do­ing,” she said.
