YESTERDAY, in the morn­ing, at the Aus­tralian Em­bassy, Seoul, His Ex­cel­lency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC met the Aus­tralian Am­bas­sador to the Re­pub­lic of Korea, His Ex­cel­lency Mr Bill Pater­son PSM, and Austrade Se­nior Trade Com­mis­sioner, Mr Brett Cooper, for a brief­ing on the South Korea Queens­land re­la­tion­ship and busi­ness, in­vest­ment and cul­tural op­por­tu­ni­ties.

Also, in the morn­ing, the Gover­nor and Mrs Kaye de Jersey vis­ited the Gapyeong Me­mo­rial Site hosted by Cap­tain Vaughn Rixon CSC RAN, Aus­tralian Em­bassy De­fence At­taché where the Gover­nor laid a wreath at the Aus­tralian Me­mo­rial on be­half of the peo­ple of Queens­land.

In the af­ter­noon, the Gover­nor and Mrs de Jersey met the Mayor, Gapyeong­gun, Mr Sung-Ki Kim fur­ther­ing the re­la­tion­ship un­der the Queens­land Gyeonggi Sis­ter-State Agree­ment.

In the evening, at the Am­bas­sador’s Res­i­dence, the Gover­nor and Mrs de Jersey at­tended din­ner hosted by the Am­bas­sador and Mrs He­len Pat­ter­son.

Ear­lier, in the af­ter­noon, the Honourable Jus­tice Cather­ine Holmes ceased duty as Act­ing Gover­nor and the Honourable Jus­tice Mar­garet McMurdo AC com­menced duty as Act­ing Gover­nor.
