COAST STAR IN FRAME FOR WAR NOVEL ROLE
JAMES Stewart will lead a young cast in the television adaptation of Tomorrow, When The War Began.
The Gold Coast-based star (pictured), who split from longtime partner Jessica Marais in May, has been cast in the action-packed series, alongside fellow Aussie actors Deborah Mailman, Sibylla Budd and Alison Budd.
Adapted from John Marsden’s six novels, a group of young actors have also been named to play the main characters of Ellie, Lee, Homer, Corrie, Robyn, Chris, Fi and Kevin.
The Librarians’ Molly Daniels will take the lead role of Ellie, while Redfern Now’s Madeleine Madden will play her best friend Corrie and Hiding’s Jon Prasida will take on the role of her love interest, Lee. Narek Arman, Fantine Banulski, Keith Purcell and newcomers Madeleine Clunies-Ross and Andrew Creer will also star. Filming is set to commence later this month, with the series expected to air on ABC3 next year.
This is the second time Marsden’s novels have been adapted for the screen, with the first book made into a movie in 2010.
