RE­CRUIT­ING STA­TIS­TICS Sat­is­fac­tory progress was made yesterday in the mat­ter of vol­un­teers of­fer­ing them­selves for ser­vice. Town and coun­try alike re­sponded to the call, the to­tal num­ber ac­cepted, as supplied by the author­i­ties at Vic­to­ria Bar­racks, be­ing 132. At the bar­racks, 45 re­cruits of­fered their ser­vices, of which 39 were ac­cepted, while at the Ko­dak rooms 52 of­fi­cers were re­ceived and 39 ap­pli­cants were suc­cess­ful. In the coun­try, Toowoomba headed the list with 21.
