Garmin has taken its best watch for run­ners, the Fore­run­ner 220, and made it bet­ter. The two ad­di­tions are an ac­tiv­ity tracker with sleep mon­i­tor­ing and a wrist-based heart-rate mon­i­tor — a first for Garmin — with sim­ple colour bars to show your ex­er­tion zone. It’s wa­ter­proof to 50m, has a bat­tery life of four weeks as a watch, or up to 10 hours with GPS and heart-rate track­ing, works with Garmin’s ex­cel­lent app, and can be pro­grammed with per­son­alised work­outs. Run­ners now have a new Garmin watch to top their wish list.
