Closest fan hoping to replicate 2015 final
MICHELLE Bolton will never get used to the excitement surrounding the NRL grand final — especially when her husband is one of the Cowboys stepping up for the premiership battle.
“Every year it’s unexpected and every year it’s overwhelming,” she said.
“They work hard all year for that moment.
“And when it actually happens it’s a feeling you can’t even describe.”
Michelle will be cheering hubby and Innisfail-born prop Scott Bolton (both pictured), and the rest of the Cowboys squad, tomorrow night at ANZ Stadium in Sydney.
And she won’t be the only FNQ WAG on the sidelines. Billy Slater’s wife Nicole will be cheering him on as he plays his sixth premiership.
This is the second time Michelle has watched Scott play in a grand final. He was part of the 2015 winning Cowboys team.
“I still remember Scott coming over to the fence when the final buzzer went off, after he’d been given his ring,” Michelle said.
“The atmosphere is something I’ve never experienced before. You remember it for the rest of your life. I can’t wait to relive it.”
And with the pair getting married last October, this might be Scott’s third consecutive year ending with a prized ring.
Michelle will fly out today with Scott’s parents and sister.
