Bri­tish tourist charged over death

A BRI­TISH back­packer, 20, has been charged with caus­ing a crash on the NSW Pa­cific Hwy that killed a teenage girl on hol­i­days with her fam­ily.

The vic­tim, Jade Finn, 16, from the Hunter re­gion, was trav­el­ling with her fam­ily near Port Mac­quarie on Thurs­day when the man’s van al­legedly col­lided with their car.

The fe­male driver, 37, and a girl, 9, were flown to John Hunter Hos­pi­tal and are be­lieved to be in a sta­ble con­di­tion. The driver has been charged with neg­li­gent driv­ing caus­ing death and not giv­ing way.
