Tif­fany and Co buys clas­sic Hep­burn script for $1.1m

AU­DREY Hep­burn’s script for Break­fast at Tif­fany’s has sold for a record $1.1 mil­lion – eight times its up­per list price – at a Lon­don auc­tion.

Tif­fany & Co o bought the 140- page script, pay­ing a record price for a film script,t, The New Yorkk Times re­ported.

“Still to­day,y vis­i­tors from around the worldd travel to our icon- ic Fifth Ave (New York)Y k) flagfl ship to cre­ate their own Au­drey Hep­burn mo­ment in front of the famed Tif­fany win­dows,” it quoted Tif­fany’s chief brand of­fi­cer Caro­line Nag­giar. Christie’s auc­tioned 246 items once owned by Hep­burn (pic­tured), which fetched $7.9 m mil­lion, more th than seven times th the pre-sale es­ti­mate. An­other 200 items are to be of­fered in a linkedli on­line auc­tiona that clos­ese next week. “Au­drey Hep­burnb is one of the mostm en­dur­ing style icons of the 20th cen­tury as well as be­ing an in­cred­i­ble ac­tress,” Christie’s pri­vate col­lec­tions di­rec­tor Adrian Hume-Sayer said. m ,
