Democracy dead if Abbott plan to take control of top job succeeds

The Courier-Mail - - LETTERS - Louen M. Wright, Wavell Heights

A.J. MACNAUGHTON (Letters, Sep 29) made some concerning assertions in regard to former prime minister Tony Abbott.

Firstly, there is a prediction that Abbott will return as Liberal Party leader after the next election and that the Coalition will win. This seems at odds with what seems like a campaign by Abbott to ensure a crushing defeat.

Secondly, Macnaughton asserted that only Abbott knows “how to control this country”.

It seems democracy would be dead under an Abbott/Macnaughton Liberal government.

This country will never be controlled while we have the means to express our views and vote.

Control is not a word that should be used for people.
