Syd­ney mother and daugh­ter and won the first round of the re­al­ity series, which com­pares rental homes, last night af­ter they sav­aged Brent and Leroy’s Port Dou­glas home as a “mau­soleum of the mun­dane”.

Brent said game­play be­came a big fac­tor.

“We weren’t sup­posed to go last. Cy­clone Deb­bie came through this area so they de­cided to change the sched­ule to go to Bondi first,” Brent said.

They are good friends with the Bondi duo but the Port Dou­glas part­ners did not mind be­ing the cen­tre of con­tro­versy. “We went into it know­ing it can be edited to make you look meaner …. and we were there to play a part,” Brent said.

Brent and Leroy are one of the cou­ples hop­ing to tie the knot af­ter the re­sults of to­day’s same-sex mar­riage sur­vey.

“Brent pro­posed to me on top of the Em­pire State Build­ing years and years ago in 2005. We have been wait­ing for a decade,” Leroy said.
