Jail for terrifying attack
PLANNED, premeditated and vicious were the words Justice Graeme Crow used to describe the violent stabbing attack of a young family in Kuttabul near Mackay.
Ceduna man Jason Wayne Greatbatch (inset left), 38, was sentenced in Mackay yesterday to 17 years in jail over the December 28, 2015 attack, tack of Mr Burgess, one count of grievous bodily harm with intent for the attack of Ms Moore, and was found guilty by a jury of attempted murder.
Justice Crow said the attack on Ms Moore was “a most vicious, a most terrifying and a most prolonged attack” .
“You knew what you were doing and that is visiting a reign of terror on this innocent family,” Justice Crow said.
