BONES AT CAMP
THE discovery of human remains in a remote campsite on the banks of a north Queensland river has left police scrambling to identify the remains.
Detectives and forensic officers were called to the banks of the Burdekin River near Dalbeg, southwest of Ayr, on Saturday afternoon.
Ayr CIB Detective Senior Constable Nick Bach said the remains had been located by fishermen in a tent near Eight Mile Creek, on the Burdekin River.
Constable Bach said there was no indication of how long the remains had been in the area.
