City in razzle dazzle
BRISBANE regularly punches above its weight when it comes to public art and Brisbane City Council is pretty progressive in that space.
Now they’re trying to turn the whole city into an art gallery (god bless them) from this week with Razzle Dazzle, an exhibition at nine sites around the city, featuring 11 top contemporary artists, ists, including the bad boy of f Indigenous art, Richard Bell, Gerwyn Davies (inset), Luke Roberts, Jemima Wyman and others.
Fish Lane, Hutton Lane, Eagle Lane and King George Square are just a few of the locations where you can enjoy a free outdoor art gallery using the streets and laneways as a backdrop. It’s a terrific initiative that will help brighten up the city and our mood.
There will be curator and artist-led walking tours and Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner says he hopes it will liven up things and have flow-on effects for local businesses, cafes and restaurants.
