The balloon goes up at resort

The Daily Examiner - - ESCAPE -

THE Oaks Cypress Lakes Resort in the Hunter Valley is commemorating its 25th anniversary by launching its own hot air balloon.

In partnership with Balloon Aloft, the Oaks balloon made its debut at the annual Hunter Valley Balloon Fiesta where a kaleidoscope of brightly coloured balloons soared aloft at sunrise.

Following the four-day event, the Oaks balloon will become a permanent addition to Balloon Aloft’s fleet over the next five years, offering Oaks Cypress Lakes Resort guests and other travellers the chance to experience hot air ballooning.

Guests will soar high above Australia’s oldest wine region and take in breathtaking panoramas of the Hunter’s hinterland, vineyards and manicured golf greens.

Oaks Hotels and Resorts chief executive officer Dillip Rajakarier said Cypress Lakes Resort had enjoyed a rich 25-year history as one of the Hunter’s most sought after accommodation, golf, wedding and conferencing destinations.

Two hours’ drive from Sydney, the resort has 136 villas, three swimming pools and a restaurant and bar.
