THE Maclean Pub­lic School stu­dents are ea­gerly an­tic­i­pat­ing play­ing on the two new sets of play­ground equip­ment cur­rently be­ing built. The equip­ment in­cludes slides, bridges, bal­anc­ing poles and climb­ing walls.

The stu­dents have also en­joyed watch­ing the con­struc­tion process take place over the last few weeks. Year 1 stu­dents have been writ­ing about what they have seen.

“At the con­struc­tion site I can see dirt laid on the grass. I can see an orange dig­ger and the builders who are putting in the new equip­ment. I can smell the smoke com­ing from the ma­chines and the dirt. I can hear a ce­ment mixer mak­ing the ce­ment. I could also hear the work­ers talk­ing.” By Luke. “At the con­struc­tion site I can see an orange dig­ger. I can see dirt. I can see a ute with a trailer on it. I can see a dump truck. I can hear work­ers talk­ing. I can hear the work­ers talk­ing. I can see the work­ers putting in poles.” By Olie. The chil­dren are very ex­cited. Here is what they had to say.

“I re­ally want to play on the new equip­ment, es­pe­cially the spi­der web and the round monkey bars!”

“I am ex­cited to try the equip­ment. I can’t wait to try the spi­der web.” - Hay­den Year 3 “I can’t wait to go on the spi­der web and climb­ing wall to prac­tise my climb­ing skills.”
