PRETTY IN PUR­PLE

The Jacaranda Com­mit­tee have in­vited schools to en­ter­tain au­di­ences at lunchtime con­certs from Mon­day to Wed­nes­day of this week.

West­lawn Pub­lic School stu­dents will be per­form­ing on Wed­nes­day from 12pm to 1pm.

Our Year 2 choir, Year 2 dance group, Ju­nior Choir and school band will be per­form­ing.

The choir’s ren­di­tion of ‘The Lion Sleeps Tonight’ will leave you want­ing to hear more from this tal­ented group. MATH­E­MAT­ICS WIZ­ARDS Well done to the fol­low­ing stu­dents for their ex­cel­lent re­sults in the In­ter­na­tional Maths Com­pe­ti­tion:

Rep­re­sen­ta­tive Coun­cil mem­bers

fo­cussed on find­ing chil­dren demon­strat­ing good man­ners to­wards oth­ers.

The award win­ner was ‘caught’ last week be­ing po­lite to teach­ers, al­ways us­ing please and thank you and mak­ing ex­tremely good choices in class.

Last week’s Cit­i­zen­ship Award win­ner was Jack Wiles in 3/4L. Con­grat­u­la­tions Jack! WHO LET THE DOGS OUT? Last Fri­day, stu­dents in K-2 par­tic­i­pated in the Re­spon­si­ble Pet Pro­gram held in the school hall.

The pro­gram, con­ducted by the lovely Gina ed­u­cates chil­dren on liv­ing safely with dogs and re­spon­si­ble pet own­er­ship.

Gina, with her very obe­di­ent dog Tessa, pro­moted th­ese vi­tal safety mes­sages through en­gag­ing an­i­mated pre­sen­ta­tions, songs, games and role plays.
