South Grafton Public
CONGRATULATIONS on a truly wonderful day at our Sesquicentenary 150 year celebration. The occasion was an outstanding success and we were overjoyed with the magnificent turn out of our community and the many former students, teachers, staff and their families who travelled far and wide to attend our celebration.
Our staff really enjoyed listening to the many funny stories our former community shared with them when visiting their former classrooms. It was also very interesting listening to how our school has evolved structurally and where certain buildings were originally placed and how our playground has changed dramatically over the history of the school.
Congratulations to our students and staff who performed superbly at our Creative Arts concert. This was an opportunity for our school to showcase how talented our students are and the hard work of our staff who prepare these groups. I know from the
feedback that our audience was highly impressed with the quality of this concert.
Our school Library will be open to the general public during school hours if you wish to visit the historical display which will remain in our Library for most of this term. Please ensure you sign in at the front office. Many of our visitors were able to locate photos of themselves and share them with their families.
Our thanks to our special visitors Mr Jim Simmons, who attended our school, Mr Chris Gulaptis, Mrs Meghanne Wellard, Mr John Thornton, Mrs Sue Hillery and Aunty Nita.
Congratulations to our magnificent Sesquicentenary committee who spent so many hours preparing this major event for our school and we are all very appreciative of their time and effort over the last 12 months with the end result being an outstanding success for all who attended. Thank you also to our wonderful P&C, our staff and our students who supported our staff throughout the day.
Congratulations to Gail Brotherson for winning the very popular Chicken coop. Thank you for your outstanding support of this raffle and our thanks also to Mr Zacek for organising this activity, the Men’s Shed for building this excellent prize and Sharni Bunn-Ellingwood for her winning design.
Jacaranda activities are fast approaching. Our school is involved in a number of Jacaranda activities:
Thank you to everyone who came along and supported the ‘Parade of Youth’ on Saturday. It was once again a fabulous turn out of students and staff.

A reminder to all our prospective Kindergarten parents for 2018 that we require your child’s enrolment form so we are able to plan our classes for next year. We are very hopeful to have four kindergarten classes. Your support would be greatly appreciated and these forms may be returned to either office as soon as possible.
Our Year 4 students enjoyed a Creative and Performing Arts day at South Grafton High School recently. Students had the opportunity to participate in a variety of activities including music, ceramics, art and drama. It was a great day and eased some of the high school fears. We would like to thanks South Grafton High School for this opportunity.
