Damaged main impacts supply

The Daily Examiner - - NEWS -

THE trunk water main which services Yamba was damaged yesterday as a result of works on the new Harwood bridge as part of the Woolgoolga to Ballina Pacific Highway Upgrade. The damage resulted in significant water pressure loss for much of the area, according to a Clarence Valley Council spokesman. He said only three properties lost total supply, but many, particularly around Pilot Hill in Yamba, would experience extremely low water pressure. “There is work being done to replace the roof to the reservoir supplying Pilot Hill, so they will have next to no pressure,” the spokesman said. Repairs were carried out yesterday afternoon and it was hoped normal supply would resume by 6pm yesterday. He said council workers had been able to re-route water supply to Yamba in the interim, while they repaired the damage.
