Man aimed for Sydney shootings
A SYDNEY man has pleaded guilty to planning a terrorist attack and shooting spree. NSW Supreme Court heard Tamim Khaja, 20, of Macquarie Park planned an attack that would have resulted in the “mass murder” of innocent civilians. The Crown alleged he scoped out Parramatta Courthouse, military facilities at Garden Island Navy Base on Sydney Harbour and Victoria Barracks in Sydney’s Paddington as targets last year. When he was 18, Khaja tried to buy a suicide vest online and planned to go on a shooting spree, the court heard.
