Grafton Hotel Our last outing was on Sunday, November 12 at Royal Westlawn with a good numbers taking part. A stroke event was played and our winner on the day was Robert “The Postman” McCredie with a nice nett score of 28 (handicap adjustment has been attended to) ahead of Shane “Cushy” Essex as runner-up (on countback) with 32 nett. Well done guys. Longest Drive for the ladies was won by Sue Hagan, Peter Gardiner taking out the men’s. Nearest the pin on the 2nd was “The Postman” and on the 7th “Cushy”. Fly Lawrence must have wondered what was happening with two eagles in his round, one on the 3rd and the other on the 8th, both shots from 100 to 140 metres out. Congratulations to Fly, as many of us hackers are happy with a birdie. Don’t forget golf club raffles this Friday, November 17 from 5.30pm A great day was had by all, so if you are looking for a “social” game our next outing will be on the December 10 at 9.30am, venue to be advised. A stroke event will be played with only three clubs and putter for each player to be used, so choose wisely. —PH
